Storybook Gardens = very confusing and sort of awesome.

We went to Wisconsin Dells today and met up with our friend Jessi, adorable baby Max and Jessi's parents. We had bruch at the quite hidden but super fabulous Thunder Valley Inn and then decided to check out Storybook Gardens since it seemed like a mellow kid thing to do. Chad and Jessi had both been to storybook gardens as kids (in the early 80s) and according to them - it looks exactly the same - which is hilarous and quite creepy if you ask me. This place had an abandoned amusemenet park sort of feel - sun damaged displays with paint chipping, broken panes all throughout the little "safari train" (which by the way only runs every hour on the hour, and then takes 2.5 minutes to circle the whole park) and abandoned snack stands. So bizarre. We had a blast, though! Lars loved feeding the ducks and the petting zoo animals. We even got to PET a giraffe (weird...weird!) I was so sad that most of the animals were in small cages. I was so shocked that there were animals even there. Ummm. well anyway, I took a lot of pictures. Enjoy!

Cool pictures! I'm really jealous that you got to pet a giraffe. I love giraffes.
